This book was such a surprise-- I did not anticipate it delving into such heavy topics, but they were handled well and with a deft hand. The chosen family elements were excellent and the short chapters between all different characters kept the story moving at a great pace. I loved the characters and appreciated how the author gave a variety of perspectives on the topic of teen pregnancy, abortion, consent, sex, and fighting against systems of oppression
